Is it possible to have no sense of mortality?

Young children and some people with certain neurological conditions lack awareness of death. Most adults defend against mortality awareness through: denial, distraction, symbolic immortality (children, legacy, afterlife beliefs), and cultural worldviews. Terror Management Theory suggests much human behavior is mortality denial.
