Why do we have different senses of adventure?

Sensation-seeking varies due to: genetics (dopamine system variants), upbringing, previous experiences, cultural values, fear processing, and age (peaks in adolescence/young adulthood). Some crave novelty and risk; others prefer stability and predictability. Neither is inherently better.
