Why do we have different senses of touch?

Touch sensitivity varies due to: receptor density (fingertips have highest density), nerve fiber types (fast pain vs. slow pain, pressure, vibration), skin thickness, age (sensitivity declines), conditions like neuropathy, and attention. Some areas are exquisitely sensitive; others barely register touch.
