What is the most distant object ever seen?

GN-z11, a galaxy observed as it existed 13.4 billion years ago (just 400 million years after the Big Bang), detected by the Hubble Space Telescope. JWST has found candidates at similar or greater distances. Light from these objects has traveled most of the universe's history to reach us.
