Was there a real King Arthur?

A historical war leader may have united Britons against Saxon invaders in the 5th-6th century. The name 'Arthur' appears in early Welsh poetry. However, the Camelot, Round Table, and Holy Grail are medieval literary inventions. Historical evidence is fragmentary and debated.
