How do I clean silver without polishing?

Aluminum foil method: line a pan with foil, add baking soda and hot water, submerge silver. The chemical reaction transfers tarnish (silver sulfide) to the foil. Quick and effective for lightly tarnished items. For heavily tarnished pieces, commercial silver polish may still be needed.
