Why is pizza round, the box square, and slices triangular?

Round pizzas cook evenly and are traditional. Square boxes are cheaper to manufacture, stack efficiently, and protect the pizza. Triangular slices are the most practical way to divide a circle. Each shape optimizes for its function.
